Whidbey Pond

Finally, we made it up to Gabe's parents property up on Whidbey. Gabe cut the drive into the property back in spring but sure enough it was overgrown already. Loved the scratching sound as we drove down in my expedition. Briers! I just closed my eyes. "Those will just buff out" is always Gabe's reply. It was beautiful as always, the plus of cutting back briers is we get to catch a lot of BASS! It started raining before we left, drove out of it on the way up. About 3 hrs. after we got there it started raining again, wind was blowing and it was a wheeee bit chilly for July. Dalton had spent the night at a friends and we picked him up and his friend went with us. They stayed up until 2 a.m. and I was worried they would fall asleep while fishing, they made it until the drive home. Dalton's friend had never fished before and Gabe did a great job teaching him how to cast. It's always fun watching the joy in a little guys face as he catches his first one by himself. Got a kick out of it. Came home and Phoenix was spending the night at her friends so drop friend off, drop daughter off. One thing about living on the island, when the kids go to a friends house it usually on the other side of the island. It's alot of run around.

Bonus for Gabe, we kept about 20 of the Bass and brought them back to our pond. We will see how they co-exist with our trout. lol

About Me

My photo
Life is full of dreams and prayers and I just hang on by the seat of my pants. I feel so blessed by our family and adventures. Never getting too comfortable..you never know what turn is in the river. When we moved to our property I had no idea the effect it would have on our lives. There was a quote in one of the local papers describing our area "I lived in paradise and then died and had to go to heaven".
